The post-event impact of the co-hosted 2002 Football World cup: the perspectives of the Korean hotel sector versus that of local/provincial tourism organisations.

Research Abstract
She has examined the pre-event impacts of co-hosting the 2002 Football World Cup in her master study. The research findings suggest that there were perceived benefits to hosting the Football World Cup. However, in June 2002 (Football World Cup event period) a total of 403,466 visitors travelled to South Korea, a decrease of 12.4% over 2001 (Korea National Tourism Organisation 2002). This June statistic did not support her masters study results. Therefore, it is proposed that her study should entail a post-event impact study to investigate how the hotel industries’ perception changed after the actual 2002 Football World Cup. Her Phd study also examines and compares the hotel sector and local/provincial organisation’s post-event perspectives of the 2002 Football World Cup.
