Research Abstract
The proposed study aims at examining the impact of community-based tourism development on gender roles and relations in a rural village of Mukono in South western Uganda. The major objective of the study is to analyse how women involvement in activities of community-based tourism has influenced their traditional gender roles and relations. It is based on the philosophical thinking of phenomenology and intends to use an inductive qualitative research approach. Being a case study research, in-depth interviews, participant observation and document analysis will be used to collect data to help in the deeper understanding of women experiences in regard to community-based tourism development and their gender roles and relations. Women Participants will be chosen purposively while data analysis and presentation will be done using inductive qualitative techniques.
