Run by the Brussels-based European Foundation for Management Development (efmd), the fundamental objective of EQUIS is to raise the standard of management education worldwide.

To become accredited, a business school must demonstrate a high quality across all their activities (programmes, research, community service etc) and a high degree of internationalisation. EQUIS also places great importance on the degree of professional relevance a School achieves through close consultation with the business community.
