As a postgraduate student at the School of Business you'll actively engage with academic and research staff, and if undertaking a taught programme, learn in small, discussion-based classes.
We offer a broad range of postgraduate programmes from one-year diplomas through to research & taught masters, and PhD degrees completed over several years.

One-year programme to enhance existing qualifications or experience, or as a bridge to postgraduate study
Postgraduate Diploma of Commerce (PGDipCom)
One-year advanced coursework programme
Postgraduate Diploma in Health Informatics (PGDipHealInf)
One-year advanced coursework programme
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
15-month (min) - 21-month (max) general management MBA programme
Master of Business (MBus)
18-month programme consisting of advanced papers and applied research project
Master of Commerce (MCom)
One-year thesis-only research degree
Master of Entrepreneurship (MEntr)
15-month programme consisting of coursework modules and business incubation project
Master of Tourism (MTour)
12 Month taught masters degree
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Three-year thesis-only research degree

Postgraduate Enrolment & Application
As a postgraduate student you are required to enrol with the University of Otago and also apply to the School of Business for admission to a programme of study. Application forms for postgraduate business courses can be found in the Downloads & Resources section of this website.
