Interactions & Spatial Processes
The 18th Annual Colloquium of the Spatial Information Research Centre sees the colloquium turning a corner away from purely GIS subjects and beginning to expand and address more academic and general questions in the area of spatial processes. The theme of the 2006 colloquium reflects this change in direction.
The two keynote speakers address some significant questions: how spatial structure affects, changes and creates different processes. Prof. David Green (Monash University, Melbourne, Australia) presents work on landscape ecology and spatial structure, and Dr. Marcus Frean (Victoria University, Wellington) continues his theme from the 2005 colloquium on theoretical models of cyclic behaviour and presents recent results on the provocative concept of Rock-Paper-Scissors (RPS) ecologies.
